Administrative & Outreach Assistant

House of Hope, established in 1953 to treat substance use disorders, is seeking a full-time Administrative & Outreach Assistant at our Salt Lake City main office, which is nestled between downtown and the University of Utah. This position joins our small Development Office team and will be instrumental in ensuring that HOH maintains a positive, top-rated presence in the community. This position will also serve as the direct assistant to the Executive Management Team, providing administrative assistance where needed and necessary. HOH is looking for an individual with incredible time-management; a detail-oriented person with exceptional communication, both written and verbal, and an affinity for “connections” to people and other organizations. A sense of humor is a must!

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Organize events for staff, donors, volunteers, and women in treatment
  • Work with the development team on all HOH marketing, awareness, and outreach strategies
  • Manage all HOH social media (website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Organize Executive Director and HOH Board of Trustee meetings and projects
  • Mange donation record-keeping, filing, storage, and distribution of in-kind donations
  • Coordinate volunteer functions and manage the volunteer database
  • Gather information for press releases, client stories, annual reports, etc.
  • Other projects, as necessary in development, community outreach, administrative assistance, and more

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Necessary Skillset:
  • Has a BS, BA or Master’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications or related field – experience year-for-year in the same field will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Enjoys writing, marketing, and public relations activities
  • Enjoys planning events, attending community activities, and meeting new people
  • Has a talent for organization and order
  • Is an efficient and creative task manager and can organize data with a strong attention to detail
  • Can work under stressful deadlines, multi-task, and stay calm during crises
  • Has strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as other computer systems
  • Is an excellent communicator in person, on the phone, and in writing, including proficiency at spelling and grammar
  • Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women and children in need

 

Agency Requirements for All Employees:
  • Non-smoking work site
  • 21+ years old
  • Background check and drug test required
  • If in recovery, have at least 2+ years of sobriety
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 recommended as well as seasonal vaccination against the flu
  • Personal, reliable transportation and Utah driver’s license/good driving record required

 

Education:
  • BS, BA, or master’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications (or related field) is PREFERRED
  • A demonstration of year-for-year experience in outreach and administrative assistance will be considered in lieu of a degree

 

Hours/Schedule:
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Salary/wage dependent on education and experience, but includes a fulltime benefits package:
