House of Hope (HOH) is seeking a Food Services Manager to manage the daily operations of the residential women’s and children’s programs at House of Hope. We are seeking an experienced individual who is passionate about nutrition, health and wellness. The person in this role provides a mid-day meal for up to 100 people and organizes a system to provide menus, groceries, recipes and training to women new in recovery in residential care at four locations. The main goal is to create a process to ensure best practices are followed to promote healthy eating for women and families in House of Hope. This important, full-time (40 hours per week) position is located at the main HOH treatment center, between downtown Salt Lake City and the University of Utah.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Plan, prepare, and cook lunches at our Outpatient Treatment Center,
· Order and distribute ingredients for the residents to assemble and cook for their evening and weekend meals; follow menus approved by dietician, prepare instructions for meals for 4 facilities,
· Keep pantry/storage inventory at main office and assist women at four facilities,
· Maintain food donations and submit reports, as needed,
· Properly stores and organizes clean pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. in proper areas,
· Check, sweep, and mop floors in assigned areas throughout shift to keep clean and free of debris,
· Perform deep cleaning of kitchen and equipment as required,
· Responsible for following proper sanitation methods, as instructed by the Health Department for storage and preparation of foods,
· Complete special cleaning projects as assigned.
· Teach clients nutrition, proper food handling, and sanitation,
· Use of personal vehicle to perform above duties, if HOH vehicles are unavailable (mileage reimbursement available for all approved HOH business using personal vehicle)
· Communicate and motivate women from diverse backgrounds to learn to prepare food and learn nutrition basics to promote a healthy transition to recovery.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skillset:
· Has a talent for organization and order; efficient and creative task manager.
· Can work under stressful deadlines, multi-task, and stay calm during crises.
· Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
· Is interested in learning more about non-profit organizations, treatment programs and women’s issues.
· Has a Food Handler’s Permit and Serve Safe credentials
· Is capable of following proper sanitation methods for food prep and storage
· Has a passion for creating well-balanced meals for women and their children
· Has a talent for organization, management, and order with basic computer skills
· Good time management, problem solving skills, and a team player
· interested in gaining experience in working to empower women in recovery to promote health and wellness
· Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women and children in need.
Agency Requirements for All Employees:
· Non-smoking work site
· 21+ years old
· Background check and drug test required.
· If in recovery, have at least 2+ years of sobriety.
· Personal, reliable transportation and Utah driver’s license/good driving record required. May be required to use own vehicle to transport deliveries between facilities
Education/Experience Required:
- Prefer education in Nutrition, Health Sciences, Food Services, or related field; Will consider comparable years of experience in food services, health and nutrition, or similar.
Hours/Schedule:
- Fulltime, 40 hours/week
- General schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm; may require occasional evenings to address food issues at facilities.
Wages/Benefits:
$24-28/hour, depending on education and experience, plus a fulltime benefits package that includes:
