FT-Development Specialist – SLC

House of Hope, established in 1946 to treat substance use disorders, is seeking a part-time Development Specialist in SLC to work on an innovative development team to help accomplish the mission of our non-profit organization.

-Support the Development Director on daily tasks

-Corporate proposals and letter writing

-Donation tracking, reporting, and data management

-In-Kind donation management

-Thank you, letters,

-Support grant project management for capital improvement funding including procurement

-Organizing events for staff, donors, volunteers, and women in treatment i.e., Legacy Luncheon, House of Hope birthday party

-Manage the annual children’s Christmas drive with Development Director

-Data collection, managing and reporting for the organization, creation of annual impact statement

-Supporting volunteer projects for organization with Outreach Specialist

-Marketing materials creation and managing internal newsletter for the organization.

-Gathering information for and creating press releases, client stories, annual reports, etc.

We are looking for someone who:

Desires to gain experience in writing, marketing, public relations with some public speaking

-Enjoys planning events, attending community activities, meeting new people

-Has a talent for organization and order; efficient and creative task manager

-Can work under stressful deadlines, multi-task and stay calm during crises

-Is interested in learning more about non-profit organizations, treatment programs and women’s issues

-Can organize data, understand computer basics, strong attention to detail and good time management

-Is an excellent communicator in person, on the phone and in writing, proficient at spelling and grammar

-Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women and children in need.

Wage: $20-$22/hour, DOE.

Hours: Full-time: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. May require occasional evenings or weekends. Full benefits package including health insurance, dental, 2x salary life insurance, 30+ days off a year for holidays, vacation, sick; 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available.

Agency Requirements:

-BS, BA in English, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Or at least 3 years’ experience.

-This is a non-smoking work site.

-Must be at least 21 years old.

-Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test.

-If in recovery, must have at least 2 years of sobriety.

-Must have own reliable transportation and good driving record.

House of Hope is a non-profit organization providing addiction recovery and behavioral health services to help women rebuild their lives and strengthen their families at seven facilities in SLC and Provo.
