Hope Center Manager, Full-Time (SLC)
Location: Salt Lake City
We are seeking a new Hope Center Manager with a passion for helping children and making a difference in the social work field! House of Hope, established in 1953 to help women recover and strengthen families, is hiring a supervisor for the team providing services for children (6 months to 8 years) in a small children’s day treatment program offering therapeutic childcare, social development skills, play therapy and various family services for those families participating in the House of Hope continuum of care. This position is for a Center Manager to ensure that the program is operated at the highest level of quality for the young children who attend the program with duties divided in half between program management and direct classroom group care.

• Competent in program management including curriculum design and scheduling for early childhood best practices for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children.
• Proficient in child development skills, coaching mothers in skills to build healthy relationships with children and collaborating with DCFS and other agencies to meet children’s needs
• Organized, creative, multi-tasker, who is calm in a crisis and proficient at problem solving.
• Ability to teach and motivate others to reach personal and professional goals
• Excellent assertive communication skills, verbally and in writing.
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or graduate degree) in child psychology, early childhood, social work or related field, current SSW OR willing to work toward licensure
• At least three years supervising others and/or working in early childhood program management, experience with mothers and children in center based or in home programs, or similar experience.
• Good stress management and creativity in creating safe space for adults and children
• Thorough understanding of best practices for infants and young children who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, homelessness, poverty or other family challenges
• Proficient at documentation and managing a program including keeping facility clean and welcoming, planning activities and creating curriculum, managing classrooms, and scheduling staff, parent consultations, early childhood testing and leading education groups for children or parents
• Experience in working with families and/or groups of children, parenting programs, crisis care or other human service programs for women and children
• Interested in learning, attending trainings, developing new proficiencies re: children’s issues
• Proficient at computer basics, good time management and a sense of humor
• Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women and children in need
Salary Range: $50-60K annual salary, based on education, experience and licensure. Full benefits package with generous employer contribution to health, dental, basic life, and long-term disability insurance, voluntary vision, life, and short-time disability insurance available, and 34 paid vacation, sick, holiday days annually. 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after 90 days, employee recognition and other incentives.
Hours: 40 hours/week; M-F: 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with one evening per week from 5-7 p.m.
Agency Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- This is a non-smoking worksite.
- Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test.
- If in recovery, must have at least 2 years continuous sobriety.
- Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record and be willing to transport clients in own car and agency vehicles.
- Be able to lift 50lbs, sit on floor, climb stairs, lift children and manage physical labor of activities common to working with children in center-based care.
