Receptionist & Billing Assistant, Part-time (SLC)
House of Hope (HOH) is seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist & Billing Assistant for our Salt Lake City treatment center for substance use and mental health disorders. This position is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy the challenge and growth from working closely with groups of people who are trying to make positive life changes. House of Hope has a talented team dedicated to helping families overcome addiction and is the oldest substance abuse program in Utah. This position will serve as the first point-of-contact for potential and current clients, vendors, visitors, deliveries, and staff. This individual is responsible for answering phone calls and redirecting callers to appropriate staff members. They will also greet and welcome HOH in-person visitors, vendors, deliveries, etc., guiding and assisting them as necessary. The other main component of this position will be to provide assistance in the daily functions and operations of the accounting processes within House of Hope.

- Receive visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
- In a polite and timely manner, answer all incoming phone calls, responding to inquiries and forwarding phone calls to appropriate members of the HOH staff.
- Maintain files for various HOH departments, filing both hard copy and e-documents expediently.
- Consolidate, record, release and balance HOH billing for Salt Lake County clients.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Accounting Coordinator and Finance Director.
- Work with the HOH managers/directors at the various campuses to ensure information is received timely and efficiently.
- Perform data entry, as necessary and assist in maintaining HOH’s database(s).
We are seeking someone with:
- At least two years of experience working in a professional environment and at least one year of experience working in accounts receivables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, willing to learn, able to take initiative, and problem solve
- Excellent phone etiquette and a professional demeanor
- Basic mathematical skills, knowledge of accounting standards and procedures, and computer skills
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and county, state, and other Medicaid billing practices
- Friendly, inviting, willing to listen, and enjoy working with people of varying backgrounds
- Positive, professional, and courteous
- Excellent time-management skills and be able to work successfully under limited supervision
Agency Requirements:
- Non-smoking/vaping, no nicotine at work site inside or outside all facilities during all work hours.
- Must pass extensive background check and drug test.
- If in recovery, have at least 2 years of sobriety.
- Vaccination recommended but not required.
- Must have own personal, reliable vehicle to use at work and current Utah driver’s license/safe driving record required.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (28 hours per week)
Work-site: Salt Lake City on-site; no remote work
Pay Range: $16-20/hour, based on experience
